“Oh Hannukah, Thanksgivukkah, Come light the Menurky! Gather round the table, lets have some Maneschevitz brined turkey.” – Jessica Young

ThanksgivUkkah! A Once In A Lifetime Event | @D.L. Rhein

A once in a lifetime event is happening this Thursday, and it’s called Thanksgivukkah.  We all know that Jewish Holidays fall on different days each year, but I can’t remember the last time Hannukah started in November!  Maybe because the last time it happened was 1882.  Check out more fun facts about Thanksgivukkah here.  To celebrate this special occasion, we decided to go outside of the box, and do a blue and white window instead of traditional fall colors.  We found ceramic turkeys at Michael’s and spray painted them white and hot glued candles to the top of these snowy birds.  People have been asking about it everyday at our store, but it is purely a fun display that you could easily duplicate at home for a show stopping centerpiece or to dress up a mantle or console.

Blue and White serving pieces are a great choice for any time of year!  French latte bowls are my go to for serving soup.  Hot apple cider is perfect in vintage milk glass mugs.   For an extra special twist, try some of these fantastic Thanksgivukkah recipes from the editors at Buzz Feed that merge traditional dishes from Jewish kitchens with Thanksgiving favorites.

From all of us at D.L. Rhein to you, Wishing you and yours a wonderful start to the Holiday Season filled with Peace and Love.
