A bathroom makeover that would make any 13 year old smile from ear to ear @ DL Rhein | www.dlrhein.comBathrooms may be my favorite thing to remodel.   They are smaller spaces and therefore, people seem to be willing to take more of a risk and do something bold that makes a statement.  In this case, at the prompting of my daughter Mia, I was ecstatic when she saw a swatch of my favorite wallpaper and said, “I would loooove to have that in my bathroom!”, that she shares with her younger sister Rose.  And so the transformation begun… read more

There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.  ~Winston Churchill

Wild Horses…could very well take me away.  There is something so powerful about a horse and its fluidity.  Whether riding in the sunshine of  Topanga Canyon, or across the snow at Surrey Lane Farm, there is something so liberating when galloping free.

Humans began to domesticate horses around 4,000 B.C., and thus they began appearing in ancient art.  From Grecian Urns to modern busts, equestrian themed decor is something that has withstood the test of time.  We can’t resist anything that is horse related when scouting for vintage treasures.  The above painting is one of my favorite finds, ever! Dear Magnificent Malachite,

You are the greenest of them all.  I love you for your depth, your weight, and your presence on tables in pretty places.  You are beautiful just the way you are and also when polished and put together.  I did not know you came from copper, but I love you even more for it.  I adore a great improvement story!
