There is nothing better than taking a risk that is outside of the box.  When our clients wanted to do something bold and bright in their all white stairwell, we knew just the person to call.  Don Flood, photographer and wallpaper designer extraordinaire,  merged his two worlds with the creation of Fliepaper.  His iconic photos turned into wall coverings that he custom prints to the perfect scale for each individual project.  With a love for pink (and being the only lady in a house full of boys), these larger than life peonies give this modern entryway a burst of happiness that puts a smile on everyones face.   read more

This complete home remodel was so much fun as we started with the entry and worked our way back, room by room.  This allowed for the home owners to enjoy a brand new abode from the minute they step through their front door.  With only one guest bathroom, they were ready to take the plunge and turn the old into a stunning powder room for everyone to enjoy.  Not one inch of this room stayed… let the transformation begin!  read more

They say you shouldn’t do business with family or friends, but sometimes I make an exception.  When my oldest childhood friend approached me to remodel her home, I was ecstatic.  A style maven in her own right and a trend forecaster for the fashion industry, she admittedly had no idea where to start.  “The entry!”  I exclaimed.  My feeling is if you like what you see when you walk in the front door, you are going to be happy and relaxed when you get home each and every day.  After 4 decades of friendship, we were ready to embark on other journey together as collaborators and doing what we do best…shopping, laughing, and discovering!  read more

  Ever feel like you’ve walked into a haunted house?  That’s how this client’s newly acquired property felt the minute I entered its doors.  It was built in Santa Monica in the 1920’s and appeared to have stayed in its original form.  Many homes from this era are undergoing renovations to bring them into the 21st century.  The house was bought with the intention of tearing it down and building a dream home on the land.  Due to permits and regulations within the city, it was going to be at least a year until my clients would be able to start the demo.  They were in a pickle as they were paying the mortgages on a rental, and now this one as well.  I suggested that we do some cost effective remodeling so they could live in the new house until they were able to start building from the ground up.  They were thrilled with that idea, and here is how we made grungy become glam.

There was only one bathroom downstairs, which made it a focal point for guests.  We decided to have some fun in this space and give it a stunning Perroquet wallpaper from one of my favorite designers Nina Campbell.  This beautiful sink was salvaged from a bathroom upstairs and fit perfectly within this chic new space.  Old vinyl floors got new life with Hollandlac paint, another one of my go to staples.  The crisp white baseboards and sink were the perfect accents to the dramatic black backgrounds.  read more

When my client approached me to transform her living room, I knew it was going to be a blast hunting for objects and furniture to fit her unique taste.  She is a huge fan of Industrial Chic (aptly described by Elizabeth McClure), and has an equal fondness for French antiques.  These two styles marry beautifully as they both tend to use a lot of iron and metal, and are naturally distressed over time.   Let the makeover begin! read more
