“My interest in theater and story telling began in my mother’s kitchen.  It was a meeting place for my mother’s large circle of friends.”  – Lynn Notage

BEFORE | KITCHEN & COMMUNAL LIVING ROOM

There is so much to love about this office, and no space was left unturned when planning out each area’s form and function.  With the communal living room anchoring the center of the floor,  the kitchen was built off of that keeping an open floor plan that would extend its lofty vibe.  With nothing but the wall and pillars existing, the possibilities were endless.  The company owners worked with the building’s architect on the layout, and we loved the floor plan.  With some minor tweaks and an idea of how to fill the space, we couldn’t wait for the bones to be built so we could style and profile this dream kitchen.  read more

BEFORE | ELEVATOR LOBBY

When one of our favorite client couples approached us to design their new production office, we flipped at the chance.  With a company continuing to grow, it was time to move out of their now cramped quarters and into a big open space to fit their needs.  One of the things we love about them is that every thing they choose has meaning, both in its aesthetic and function.  This philosophy is reflected within their work space and what they present to their clients.  Two months later, we collaborated and curated not just an office, but a creative environment that would ensure that every one feel at home whether visiting or coming to work each day.  No detail was without great thought, and it began with the first thing you see when entering their offices.  read more

“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.”
– Maya Angelou

Klein Formal Living 1

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!  We have had a blast working on our client’s new home.  Part of the fun was figuring out what to do with existing furniture from the last house and making it work (or not) within the new space.  A few of the pieces in this airy sitting room, were plucked from the former living room.   Although this home is modern and beachy, a mix of old and new is always symbiotic and far more interesting than a room that looks just like a page in a catalog.  read more

This handsome guy rules the roost and followed us around every where we went throughout this remodel.  Although he is a perfect gentleman, now he can relax in the game loft while the family is dining.  read more

“There are certain parts of the home that I think embellishment feels cozy and inviting.  Then there are other environments, for example, the living room, where I don’t have a ton of items on the table.” – Aerin Lauder

BEFORE | LIVING ROOM

Primary colors were no longer a primary desire in this home!  After some updates and zhushing to their formal den, the desire to go neutral spilled over into this sunny room leading outside to their beautiful backyard oasis.  Now that the kids aren’t little anymore, this family wanted their home to be a relaxed and zen filled environment, welcoming them and their guests to kick back and unwind.

Belgian Linen Custom Sectional | Vintage Marble Coffee Table | Silk Rug | #dlrhein #interiordesign

Double the Chaises, double the fun! We bid adieu to the old blue sofa, and bienvenue the fresh new custom sectional in Belgian linen.  How about those soothing walls? Pebble Beach by Benjamin Moore completely transformed the vibe of this room with a stroke of a brush.  A hand woven rug made of silk remnants is as pretty as it is soft and adds a different texture.

Fresh Flowers are a must, and these purple thistles couldn’t be more perfect if they tried.

Vintage Runner turned into Pillows | Refinished Marble Coffee Table | #dlrhein #interiordesign

The base of this vintage coffee table went from off white to grey pulling out the beautiful veins from the marble.  Our client fell in love with this vintage indigo printed runner while we were rummaging through my box of favorite things in my studio.  One of a kind and totally unique, this textile was given new life when turned into plump pillows.   I love that we saved the tassel trim and put it on two of the pillows for a playful touch.

An area that was once an afterthought is now a reading nook with this handsome vintage chair and ottoman reupholstered in navy velvet with apple green piping for a burst of contrast.  A carved wood pedestal from another room becomes the perfect side table for a glass of ice tea on a beautiful Cali afternoon.  Calm, cool and collected…OMMMMMMMM.
