“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vinci
BEFORE | LIVING ROOM
Once the kids aren’t so little anymore, people tend to look at their homes differently. Fabrics don’t have to be so dark, edges don’t have to be so soft. With some beautiful mid century cabinets and bold art to anchor the room, changes to the textiles where just what the juge doctor ordered!
AFTER | LIVING ROOM
A striped ottoman is replaced with a vintage coffee table stained in ebony. A smoky mirrored antique tray adds reflection to fresh cut flowers in a blown glass vessel. A handsome update to the couch makes a dramatic difference without interupting the neutrality of this sitting room. It is begging for someone to curl up on it with a great book!
BEFORE | WOOD COFFEE TABLE
This coffee table went from Country to Chic by staining it a rich, deep shade of ebony. Over sized floor pillows for cuddling up by the fire and game nights with friends were made from one of my fave vintage scarves from my textile collection.
BEFORE | VELVET SOFA AND FLORAL PILLOWS
AFTER | REUPHOLSTERED SOFA
Textured Belgian linen in soft grey with antiqued brass nail heads give this sofa a tailored look which is elegant without feeling too formal. Embroidered Hexagon Pillows are a fun twist while keeping with a soothing aesthetic.
This happy girl was the perfect subject begging to be photographed! Orchids and tiny vines fill a vintage trough atop this burled wood console. A touch of live beauty wakes up layers of wood in a neutral space while keeping the zen vibe of this home.
