“I’ve got to be high class…Which is sad because I like bars.” – Daniel Craig
BEFORE | LIVING ROOM TO KITCHEN AREA
After completing a bohemian living room and a modern kitchen in this Encino remodel, we needed to do something to join the spaces together that was as pleasing to the eye as it is functional. A shelf hung out into the room and was a piling ground instead of a practical built in piece of furniture. Eager to make the spaces flow into one another, we decided to transform this unused space into a bar for entertaining.
How sexy are these leather and brass barstools from Arteriors?! They give a much needed weight to the space and fit perfectly under the beautiful new marble slab that replaced the dated shelf. The new shade of the wood floors really make all of the white details in this area pop. Impromptu cocktails or an extra space to recharge your lap top while working, the view extends through the kitchen and out to the beautiful front yard.
BEFORE | Vintage Cabinet and Blonde Floors
We were thrilled when we found this stunning cherry wood vintage cabinet on one of our hunts. It was in pristine condition and was just the right size to create a bar cabinet within the house. I sent my friend a pic and said this is made for your house, we need to get it now. She agreed and the rest was history!
AFTER | Lacquered Vintage Bar Cabinet
The wonders of white will never cease to amaze me! We turned this beauty into a chic refurbished bar cabinet by customizing the top portion. By removing two of the wood panels and swapping them for glass, it allowed for us to show off their cool collection of vintage bar ware and antique books. A set of three drawers created additional hidden storage for bar tools, napkins and other accoutrements. The transformation was completed by lacquering the whole piece in white, and matching the new hardware with the fabulous vintage brass details. You know what they say, “It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!”
